One Wish Project

Welcome to One Wish Project

One Wish ProjectOne Wish Project is a nonprofit social service organization that has been serving children and teens experiencing homelessness across Massachusetts since 2017. We are rooted in the belief that every child, no matter their circumstances, deserves the joy and recognition of a birthday celebration. Through partnerships with family shelters and the Department of Children and Families (DCF), we celebrate approximately 2,000 deserving kids each year fostering hope, self-worth, and lasting memories.

We Are More Than Cake and Presents

For a child and teens experiencing homelessness, life is filled with uncertainty—where they’ll sleep tonight, when they’ll eat next, if they’ll stay at the same school tomorrow. These challenges don’t just affect their physical needs; they chip away at their self-esteem, their sense of belonging, and their hope for the future.

One Wish Project exists to change that.

We step into moments that are often missed and transform them into something meaningful. Through personalized birthday celebrations, we remind each child and teen that they are worthy of joy, recognition, and care—no matter their circumstances. In a life where so much feels out of their control, we offer a moment of certainty: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not forgotten.

✨ ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ✨

@zipperdeesmom never says no to someone in need. Her generosity, compassion, and dedication to helping others have made her a beloved and trusted presence in many nonprofit organizations throughout our community.

Diana is the Operations Manager at Cooperstown Environmental, LLC and a founding member of the @andover_rotary. Diana is probably best known by many local families as the longtime owner of @yangs.martial.arts.andover, which she ran alongside her husband Alex for 30 years.

When we asked Diana to join our Advisory Board in January 2024, she didn’t hesitate and we couldn’t be more grateful. Her heart for service and thoughtful insight help strengthen our mission as we continue bringing birthday joy to children, teens, and young adults experiencing homelessness.

Thank you, Diana, for always showing up for those who need it most. 💜

D’yani is one happy birthday girl! 🩷🥳

We had the joy of celebrating this beautiful 3-year-old with a personalized birthday surprise made just for her. Watching the magic a birthday brings to a child experiencing homelessness and to their family never gets old.

Her smile lit up when she saw her Peppa Pig toys and baby dolls, her favorite things! 🥰 Her mom shared how grateful she was to see her daughter feel so happy and celebrated.

This is why we do what we do. 💗

❤️🎉 LEADING WITH HEART ❤️🎉

Yesterday, our Executive Director, @claudiamintz celebrated her birthday by celebrating two “birthday twins.” 💗

She delivered a cake and gifts to an incredible 18-year-old then honored Celia, who turned 21 through our Aging On program.

In foster care since 15, Celia chose to extend her time in care and is now thriving in college. 🎓✨

Happy Birthday, Claudia and thank you for showing us how one person’s kindness can make others feel truly seen and celebrated. 💜
A very grateful foster mom shared this beautiful note with our volunteer, Wendy, and it truly touches our hearts. 💜 What a wonderful reminder of the impact a birthday celebration can make. Moments like these are why we do what we do. Thank you, Wendy, for helping make Sean's day so special, not just for him but his family as well.
🎉 Happy 8th Birthday to sweet Dylan! 🎉
One of the many January birthdays we were honored to celebrate. His favorite color is white, so our incredible volunteer Betsy created the cutest snowman cake just for him ☃️

Big smiles, grateful hugs, and another child reminded how special they are 💙

In just the first week, we’ve already celebrated a dozen birthdays by bringing joy, recognition, and personalized love to children and teens whose birthdays might otherwise go unnoticed. 🎂🎁
Brooklyn turned 6 yesterday and our wonderful volunteer, Danielle, celebrated her in a beautiful way with homemade cupcakes and her favorite gifts.

✨HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of us at One Wish Project! ✨

Here's to an incredible 2025. We were able to accomplish so much this year because of YOU, our donors, volunteers, partners, followers, family, friends, and community. We were able to bring joy, dignity, and celebration to so many children, teens, and now young adults through our new Aging On initiative.💜

Every birthday celebrated, every smile shared, and every moment of joy was made possible by YOU. Thank you for believing in our mission and standing with us as we continue to grow our impact.

Here’s to another year of hope, kindness, and birthday magic. 🎂✨We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in the year ahead!
⏰💜 THERE'S STILL TIME TO MAKE AN IMPACT THIS YEAR!

There are only a few days left to make an end-of-year, tax-deductible donation to support our mission. Your donation will help us create moments of hope and belonging to thousands of children, teens, and young adults during some of the most challenging times in their lives with our highly personalized birthday celebrations. ✨
